Hitcents has announced that HardBoiled Studios’ egg-centric climb-’em-up, Yolked – The Egg Game is leaving Early Access behind on April 6, 2023. If you’re eggs-pecting me to make egg puns throughout this article, I’m going to have to disappoint you. The egg is the cradle of life, and I cannot eggs-press the level of respect that demands.
Now, if I can have your attention, I would like you to eggs-amine this game.
Nope. I can’t go on like that. It’s horrible, and I can feel the shame starting to knot up in my chest. So let’s forget this ever happened. It’s eggs-cruciating.
Yolked reminds me of Heave Ho or Endoparasitic. You play as an arm-having egg, and guide them across various environments and obstacles using the kind of grip that makes bass musicians jealous. You can also collect costumes for your eggs. That mostly sums it up, but the trailer demonstrates a lot of interesting situations, including some so bizarre that I want to see how they fit into the game.
As a writer in video game media, I sometimes get to abuse my platform. This is one such time. I don’t really have any time to play Yolked for review, so instead, I’m highlighting its impending launch as a way to try and get more people to play it, so I can live vicariously through them.
Yolked – The Egg Game is available on Steam Early Access right now, but you can eggs-pect the full version to drop April 6, 2023.
