Diablo has had a long history of errors

Back in my day, we had Diablo 1 errors over 56K dial-up, and we hated it! But seriously folks, I did have issues with Diablo 1, and that trend never really stopped happening with every iteration of Diablo online play during my lifetime. While many could argue that Diablo 2 was the most stable of them all, I also ran into my own share of online problems. Here’s how to fix the account lock issue in Diablo 4.

Option 1: Reboot Diablo 4 and wait five minutes to log back in

Sadly, the account is currently locked error deals with server-side issues, and it’s not actually your Battle.net account that’s at fault. The best way to solve this issue is to log out, completely clear Diablo 4 services from your taskbar, then wait a few minutes. Log back in. This should solve the issue as it’s giving your account time to “reset” as it were, so you can log back in unfettered.

Option 2: Check the Blizzard support line

The Blizzard customer support Twitter account is the best, most up-to-date lifeline for information on Diablo 4. If there’s a server-wide account lockout issue, you’ll hear about it here first, and you’ll know when those servers will go back online.

Take this breakdown of login issues for instance, which occurred around the launch of Diablo 4. It’s a sort of “is it down for everyone, or just me?” test!

Option 3: Scan and repair your copy of Diablo 4

If all else fails and your copy of Diablo 4 is still giving your errors or not logging in properly (which happened to me on PC), you can scan and repair your copy of Diablo 4. This could solve some errant login issues that deal with corrupted files and will save you the time of uninstalling and reinstalling the game. The entire scan and repair process took me roughly 10 minutes.

Of course, a full re-install is your last option! If nothing else works, call/message Blizzard support.
